About Kalyan Karmakar

Kalyan started blogging eight years ago when his wife opened a blog for him and named it ‘Finely Chopped,’ to help him express and share his food insights with the world. The blog has gained a massive following in the past years and is considered to be one of the most popular blogs in India. Bengali by birth, foodie by religion, a market researcher by profession, Kalyan Karmakar loves to travel the world to experience the food culture that every country has to offer. In between playing with ingredients and flavors, which inspire him to experiment with food, he manages to take some time out for writing about his new discoveries. Apart from writing for his blogs, he is also the author of, ‘The Travelling Belly’. In addition to this, he creates videos for his YouTube channel, ‘The Finely Chopped’.

He runs Finely Chopped Consulting where he combines 23 years of work experience in market research and in food writing to offer brand consulting solutions in the food space and has worked with leading FMCG and media brands such as Saffola, ITC Masterchef, Abbott India, the Times of India, Sodexo India, Icestasy, among others, for the same.
