Pav Bhaji.

Pav Bhaji is a popular Mumbai-style Indian street snack.

It comes with spicy mashed veggies and dinner rolls. Bread is referred to as pav and veggies are referred to as bhaji.

The dish is flavored with a specific spice blend called pav bhaji masala, and it’s completed with plenty of butter and cilantro!

There are different types of pav bhaji depending on how it’s made. There is a Jain variation that is free of onion and garlic. Then there’s Kathiyawadi Pav Bhaji, which is famous in Gujarat’s Kathiawar region and uses certain regional spices. There’s also Khada Pav Bhaji, which has no mashed vegetables.

This Pav Bhaji recipe is spicy and tasty, and it’s easy to make vegan by swapping out the butter for vegan butter! You are seriously missing out if you have never tasted this!

 

Ingredients:

  • RefinedSunflower oil
  • Salted Butter 20 gram
  • Chopped onions 200 gram
  • Smashed potatoes 4-5 nos
  • Finely chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped ginger 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped chilli 1 tbsp
  • Tomato paste 200 gram
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt 2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli paste 2 tbsp
  • Chopped capsicum ½ nos
  • Green peas 20 gram
  • Pav bhaji masala 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 10 ml
  • Water 100 ml
